Course Syllabus
1. Accountancy
- Part A: Financial Accounting - I: Theoretical framework, accounting process, recording of business transactions, bank reconciliation statement, trial balance, and depreciation, provisions, and reserves.
- Part B: Financial Accounting - II: Financial statements (sole proprietorship), incomplete records (single entry), and Computers in Accounting.
2. Business Studies
- Foundations of Business: Nature and purpose of business, forms of business organizations (Sole proprietorship, Partnership, Joint stock company), public sector, and global enterprises.
- Finance and Trade: Business services (banking, insurance, warehousing), emerging modes of business (e-commerce, BPO), social responsibility of business, business ethics, sources of business finance, MSMEs, internal trade, and international business.
3. Economics
- Part A: Statistics for Economics: Collection, organization, and presentation of data, statistical tools (Mean, Median, Mode, Dispersion), and correlation/index numbers.
- Part B: Introductory Microeconomics: Introduction to microeconomics, consumer's equilibrium and demand, producer behavior and supply, and forms of market and price determination under perfect competition.
4. Entrepreneurship (Optional/Core)
- Entrepreneurship Concept: Functions of an entrepreneur, entrepreneurial journey, project identification, formulation, and report preparation.
- Resource Management: Small enterprise, legal requirements, societal role, and concept of value added.
5. Compulsory Languages
- Hindi & English: Grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and prescribed literature texts.
